Thanksgiving and Such...

Here's the last several weeks in photos. After Halloween came Thanksgiving. We went up to Josh's mom's house for almost a week and had a great time. We went to the Chattanooga Aquarium and the kids had a blast... that's where lots of the pictures are from. Life is good. Busy, but good.

Some fun sillohettes of Rashauna and Robbie taken up at Nancy's before Thanksgiving.

Spending Thanksgiving morning in Tennessee style... shootin off guns.

Happy Thanksgiving!!! We have so much to be thankful for... but most of all - our amazing families and friends. We love you all!!

The Chattanooga Aquarium trip with Papa, Nina, MeMe (Mariah Sr.) and Joseph (aka: Monster): At the aquarium they had a really cool butterfly exhibit. Mariah was in heaven. She loves bugs - especially butterflies. Anyways, she was lucky enough to get one to hop on her finger and it sat there until another little girl asked if she could hold it. She was so cute... so excited. Robbie tried to touch a ray, but kept getting mad that his shirt was getting wet, so it never happened, but he had so much fun. He loved the seahorses and the starfish and the alligators. They both love animals. They could go there every single day and never get sick of it.

{That's Josh and the kids at the top of the arch}

Oh No!!!!

I seriously LOVE this picture of them... a rare sighting of BOTH of them in the same picture!!

Mariah's Letter to Santa...

The other day Rashauna was watching the kids while I went to an appointment. When I got back Mariah (with the help of Rashauna) had written the cutest letter to Santa. I thought I'd write it down before I 'send' it to the North Pole =)

Dear Santa,

I want a bunny that hops, a camel toy, a robot toy, a set of doctor toys, toy scissors to cut baby hair, a toy apple that pops out a worm when you want to eat it, and a toy chicken that can wake me up when it's morning. I really, really also wish that I could have a toy snake that slithers in my room to wake me up. You should get me these things because I've been very good and cleaned my room.

Thank you! Love,

Mariah

I guess after they finished the letter Rashauna asked Mariah if she really did clean her room, and I guess she hadn't because she ran in there and cleaned it all up! Now I have to start my search for all these extremely random Chrismtas requests... If anyone sees something on this list - let me know!! haha

Halloween 2009

Wow did Halloween sneak up on me this year!! Am I the only one? The week of was completely jam packed with stuff stuff stuff... and all of the sudden the time was here to get dressed up and go hunting for candy!
It all began on Monday when we went to the library where the kids went trick-or-treating around the books and then finished off the evening with a fun storytime. Mariah dressed up as a princess/fairy/ballerina and Robbie was a prison inmate (Mariah's costume from two years ago!). I don't have any pictures from that night... whoops!
Friday was our church's Halloween party. As we were getting ready for the party, I heard a strange sound outside the door. I went out to the living room to see Mariah with the biggest smile on her face. "What was that noise?" I asked and she just smiled and said, "Daddy!" I looked out the door and sure enough, there was Josh! I guess he got work off for Friday and Saturday at the last minute and decided to come and surprise us. He also surprised Mariah with a brand new fairy butterfly costume! Josh threw on his outfit from 2 years ago, also a prison inmate like Robbie, I threw on Rashauna's high school soccer attire, we called it good and headed to the party.
They had tons of fun stuff for the kids to do and Mariah was in heaven playing and running around with all of her friends. Robbie usually doesn't do so well in loud, crowded areas so it wasn't a surprise that he just wanted to be outside away from the commotion. Thank goodness Josh was there to hang out with Robbie because he was not a happy camper that night! Some of my friends and I were in charge of the cake walk and that was really fun. Mariah won some super yummy sugar cookies for us!! Thanks Mariah! And speaking of winning, Josh somehow got talked into entering the pie eating contest and won 1st place!! So we also have a nice trophey and another... pie to show for it! (Just what he wanted to eat I'm sure...).
Saturday (which was actually Halloween) our friends had a Halloween birthday party for their son (also Mariah's future hubby...). Before that though, we had yet another birthday party at our house for MeMe (big Mariah) and Jae, Tina's fiance. Rashauna made an awesome cake for them and we ordered the yummiest pizza EVER!! It's called Scratch Pizza. Man am I happy to announce that I found a replacement for Pizza Plus in Hilmar... Josh says he still likes them better though... but they have my vote!
So after the birthday party and a mean game of Cranium we said good-bye to Josh's fam and got all dressed up again - Josh and Robbie still as inmates, Mariah as the most adorable black cat and me as a desperate housewife (not really a costume, I know...). We had fun at the party, hanging out with friends and letting the kids destroy the place. The we all caravaned out to a neighborhood and went Trick-or-Treating. Mariah had such a good time and was so polite, making sure to say 'thank you' every time. Robbie, not so much. Once again, so grateful Josh was there to help!!
I think that about sums up our crazy Halloween... Hope everyone had a good one. Now on to Thanksgiving and Christmas - can you even believe it's that time of year again???

Mariah's Cowgirl Birthday Party

Mariah celebrated her 5th birthday this past weekend. It worked out perfectly because my family flew in the day before and Josh and all of his family was able to come up and be there too. Mariah was seriously in heaven. She had so much fun with all her family and friends and got so many cool presents.

She decided a while back she wanted to have a cowgirl birthday party, which was surprising since she's so into princesses and ballerinas and all that other girly pink stuff. But cowgirl it was. Rashauna and I had so much fun thinking of ideas and getting everything ready before the party. Rashauna even made a super awesome cowgirl birthday cake. Her first cake for her new business: Sprinkles and Such custom cake design. But because we had gotten everything ready in advance it seriously wasn't stressful at all. I just think we needed a bigger space for everyone, but it all worked out okay. Most importantly, I think everyone had a good time - especially Mariah.

I can't believe my little baby is FIVE YEARS OLD!!! How did this happen so fast?? It was just an overall great day. I looked around and felt so blessed to have such wonderful families and also so many wonderful friends already. We feel at home here... thanks everyone for making her day such a great one!!
