Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge with Mom!

We had the absolute pleasure of having my AWESOME mom and sis Monica come out for almost a week a few weeks ago. We had such a great time - it just flew by so fast! We rented a beautiful cabin up in the smokey mountains outside of Pigeon Forge, which is a mini Las Vegas in the middle of East Tennessee. Go figure. We went hiking, went to Dollywood (a hill-billy Disneyland of sorts), shopped, hung out and relaxed. It was so much fun. Here are some pictures from the trip...

Here are some fun pics I snapped while we were enjoying the beautiful weather we've been having. We bought a new pot (no obviously it's not ceramic!) that the kids were using as a hat/sitting thing?? Anyways, it was too funny not to get some pictures of.

Signs of Spring

I still can't get over what a beautiful day it was today. I was just thinking how wonderful it is that the weather is getting warmer, everything is blooming, turning green... everything is getting 'happier'. Perfect timing isn't it...

Anyhoo, in light of the warm weather we decided we wanted to do a garden this year. We've done one once before in California and it was so much fun and so rewarding. I had a photo shoot this morning and it was so cute to get home to Josh and the kids working out in the yard. He even got them their own little gardening set. We finished one planter box and got everything planted in it and just need to plant the second box.

While we were outside, I took a couple minutes to capture the beauty of spring... We'll hopefully post pictures in a few months of our booming garden!! =)

Charleston, South Carolina

We had such an awesome time this past weekend in Charleston, SC. It's so fun living on the other side of the country and being able to explore new areas and cities. We absolutely loved Charleston and would like to go back soon - we didn't even get to do everything!! We went to the beach several times, which is by far the kids most favorite thing to do. Mariah loves searching and collecting seashells and could do so for hours and hours on end... And Robbie just loves to dig and throw the sand all over the place - and could do THAT for hours on end. So the beach is the perfect place for us.

We also went on a horse drawn carriage ride through historic downtown and learned a lot about the history of the city. I can't believe I didn't get any pictures of the amazing houses, or should I say, mansions that were there. Next time... but they were gorgeous!!

Then we went on a harbor cruise and learned a lot more about Charleston. The first fire of the civil war occured in Charleston... I think Trent and Taraleigh need to come out for an American History tour!! Hey - it's a tax write off!! =)

All in all, it was a great family trip. Josh's mom, sister and hubby all came to hang out with us too and we were able to go out to eat with them the night before we left. Yummm... talk about some delish food choices!!

Now I want to see some comments because this is pretty good on the whole posting thing!!! =)

Christmas #1 (better late than never) and NEWS!!!

We were lucky enough to have 2 Christmases this year. We had our first one with Josh's family on Dec. 12th before we left for California (which I will work on posting that Christmas sometime soon - I'm already to throw the computer across the room by now...). Here are some pictures from that and then a couple I snapped of the kids the other day.

Okay... so as I mentioned before I know I've been terrible at posting the last several months... blah blah blah. I just realized that I haven't even announced some fun news (and possibly a reasonable excuse for not posting as much!): We're expecting baby #3 in mid-August. We'll keep you posted when we find out what it is, which should be in a about a month.

I'm going to quiet the inner photographer in me and upload pictures the old fashion small way that I can't stand simply because I wont do it if I do it the other way. It takes soooo long. I really woulnd't mind finding some other blogging program that doesn't suck as much as blogger. Anyways, that's another story...
